2006 Olympics

Watching the Opening Cermonies of the Turino Olympics. Some thoughts:

• The Skating Federation judge took the Judging Oath. That is funny.
• I like the Roots uniforms better than the new Hudson's Bay ones. I was also half expecting the coats the Candians were to wear to have the Hudson's Bay stripes on them. I was disapointed to see just coloured mitts.
• god Yoko is odd. I know how much Lex loves her, but to me? Just odd. And was it just me or did Peter Gabriel sound an awful lot like Leonard Cohen? Which is kind of sad cause Pete's got some good musical abilities.
• The catty CBC commentary was very, very funny. I decided that the Olympics must be just like a big party for them. Its the one time, every 2 - 4 years when they all get together. They must have a blast.
• The reveal of the Olympic rings was very cool. As was the human dove of peace, and the lighting of the torch. I wish I had TiVo cause I wanted an instant replay.


• And what is it about world sports gatherings that brings out the crazy hats?
• Mom also said that Pavarati reminds her of a South Park character. LMFAO!
• Moments that gave me goosebumps? Seeing the Olympic flag being brought in (by 8 women for the first time ever), the lighting of the torch, the first country to enter the stadium.
• I want to go to the opening ceremonies for 2010 in Vancouver. Mom says it can be her 55th birthday present. Also to tell my brother that he needs to bone up on his ballet skills so he can perform in the ceremonies.

Also do the movie buffs I know that use FireFox know of this extention? It adds a IMDb toolbar to the browser. Very nifty.

My throat still hurts. Its now been a week that it has been sore for. That can't be good, can it? Like its not just a cold if its over 7 days right?
