High traffic dirt and grime

This is why I love living in Calgary.I woke up this morning at 8am and this is what I saw out the window. They were calling for rain but we got this instead.

This was the alley behind my building, my walk to the bus stop. This wasn't normal dry Alberta snow. This was wet, sticky, Ontario snow. It was halfway to my knees in the alley.

This is what it looked like when I got home at 7. Look! You can see Crowchild Trail!

And this is the forecast for the rest of the week. How crazy is that? Hardly anyone has shoveled as its all going to be gone by tomorrow afternoon.

I am also really excited for The Office tonight. Its been way too long!

Woo! So some more good news. That direct sales job I applied for? I got an interview about a week ago, it went ok. I got word of a second interview, which was today. So they totally faked me out, giving me the "you don't have any sales experience" line, then dropped the "you totally got the job! We're just pulling your leg!" YAY! I got the job! I am totally excited about this. It'll be a summer of travelling! To exotic places like northern Alberta and Manitoba! Seriously though, it's gonna be great! We have longer weeks, from 6 to 12 days but then get a bunch off. So I plan on making some trips north to see friends and actually get up to the Lac for more than like a day. This will be a good thing. And also, I keep the salary I have for field support and then get commission on top of that. Yay! This could mean I really, for real have a car by the fall!YAY! I AM REALLY EXCITED ABOUT THIS! It all starts on April 28th, they do 2 days of sales stuff. Going over the packages, the deals we will be giving out, some sales stuff. Then 2 days selling around the city, a couple days off and then we are off on the first long trip! When the summer is over, I will have my old position waiting for me. How sweet is that?
Ech, I am watching The Robber Bride on CBC right now. I am really glad I read the book first. This movie is crap! It is hardly at all like the book. Heh, it kind of makes me think of fanfic. Has the bones of the real story (characters, places) but the rest is all made up.

Sweet zombie Jesus!

Woo, haven't had point form in a while.- In my quest to complete #99 (Perform 101 random acts of kindness) I decided while standing in the line at Second Cup this morning that I would pay for the coffee of the person behind me. So I order my froufy coffee (medium white mocha no whip mmmmmmm) and pay for mine and what turns out to be some ladies large coffee. Because mine is froufy I have to wait for it to be made. So I stand out of the way, off to the side. The lady comes over to me and asks why I paid for her coffee. I replied "It's Monday. Why not?" She then held out her hand and offered me her twoonie. I declined, she gave me a weird look, then turned and walked away. Now I wasn't expecting like a ticker tape parade, but a thank-you or not to be looked at like I was crazy would have been nice. Jeez lady, I was just trying to do something nice.
- I saw a couple of movies since I updated last. Woo! Inline lists!
- I watched Hard Candy. Man that is a really good movie. Ellen Page was phenomenal in this. She was really much better in this than she was in Juno. And the guy who played the paedophile? Patrick Wilson? He was uber-creepy and also cute. Great casting all round. I would recommend this to anyone.
- And then I watched An Inconvenient Truth. You know, for all the hype I had heard about this movie, I was really not that impressed. Maybe it's my basic innate cynicism, or that I think that you can take the facts and skew it either way, but I wasn't convinced. Or maybe it was that it seemed too much to me like he was bashing current and present US administrations (not that I am an advocate for the current one. Or others for that matter). I was really just expecting to be blown away by this movie and I wasn't.
- It is so cold in here that I am shivering. Literally shivering. And it's not even that cold out! WTF?
- I have turned into someone that has decided that if you don't like what is going on at your workplace, do something about it or leave. Don't just sit there and bitch and moan and complain. Get some balls and either fucking DO something or fucking leave! Why yes! It has been rather stressful at work lately? Why do you ask?
- I am going to Edmonton this weekend for my birthday, did I mention that? Cause I am. I am excited. I get to hang out with Charlene! Yay! Oooh and maybe we'll get to see a movie! That would be fun. Did I mention I'm excited?

1. Drumline seriously warms the cockles of my little band-geek heart.2. We had our first real cold this winter. It was -26 with the windchill coming home. I forgot how biting the cold can be. Again I wonder why I live in this godawful climate. I should really move, winter makes me cranky.
3. I really do not like the cutesy paintings that the buildings downtown pay to go up on their windows during the holidays. You know the ones I mean? The ones with Santa and elves and snowmen with the big googley eyes. Somewhat like this. And I have had to look at them since November 9th. The building across from the station where I catch the train in the morning has had their windows painted since them. Ugh.
4. I didn't watch last week's How I Met Your Mother until last night, but I think more people should play the "Major Whatever" game. It's fun. And I also love Ted & Robin. Together or not, I love them. I still think it would be cool if Victoria came back. I liked her.
5. I have spent most of the night cutting up snowflakes and making paper chains. I plan on decorating Buddy The Elf style. Maybe not to that extreme, but with paper and snowflakes and white lights. Its going to be fun!
6. I am almost finished with 2 seasons of Alias</a> and I love David Anders. As Sark or as Adam Monroe, he is adorable. I love how young he is in Alias. Mmmm love the Anders.
