This is Liz: Work

Why yes! It really is 3:12am

Sat Apr 19, 11:54 PM

Ok. This is pretty funny. I especially like MySpace.

This is my last night of 2-10's. As much of a night owl as I am, it feels pretty weird to be up this late everyday for a week. Meh, next week I'm on 8-4's and that will be almost normal :)

My plan for the weekend? Well I have a lot of things I want to get done. I need to clean the house, do the dishes, do a load of laundry. I want to upload a Futurama moodtheme I found, I have a mess of movies I want to watch. And I'm working some overtime tomorrow (well I guess it's really later today). What I think will end up getting done? Maybe the dishes, maybe the laundrey, definately the OT, maybe a movie. 2 days for a weekend just never seems like long enough.

Lastly? My head is fucking killing me right now. I should just go to bed already. But the internet, it's calling my name! Liz, Liiiiiiz! Come back! Look! I've got crappy videos to show you!

Rickroll'd

Fri Apr 18, 11:53 PM

Ok. We were rickroll'd at work today. We have this, well its almost like a slideshow that they play in the call centre. Its got the weather in the 3 cities where we have call centres, show tech status stuff, weather alerts, call queues. They update this everyday. Well today, in the middle of the "show" they played about a 30 second clip of the Rick Astley video, but without sound. It was strange. And I think I may have been one of the only people in my department who realized what the hell it was. I still have no idea why it was put in the "show" though. Weird.

And this is the best rickroll video. Ever.

HA! WOOO! YAY FOR ME!

Woo! So some more good news. That direct sales job I applied for? I got an interview about a week ago, it went ok. I got word of a second interview, which was today. So they totally faked me out, giving me the "you don't have any sales experience" line, then dropped the "you totally got the job! We're just pulling your leg!" YAY! I got the job! I am totally excited about this. It'll be a summer of travelling! To exotic places like northern Alberta and Manitoba! Seriously though, it's gonna be great! We have longer weeks, from 6 to 12 days but then get a bunch off. So I plan on making some trips north to see friends and actually get up to the Lac for more than like a day. This will be a good thing. And also, I keep the salary I have for field support and then get commission on top of that. Yay! This could mean I really, for real have a car by the fall!

YAY! I AM REALLY EXCITED ABOUT THIS! It all starts on April 28th, they do 2 days of sales stuff. Going over the packages, the deals we will be giving out, some sales stuff. Then 2 days selling around the city, a couple days off and then we are off on the first long trip! When the summer is over, I will have my old position waiting for me. How sweet is that?

Ech, I am watching The Robber Bride on CBC right now. I am really glad I read the book first. This movie is crap! It is hardly at all like the book. Heh, it kind of makes me think of fanfic. Has the bones of the real story (characters, places) but the rest is all made up.

This is the best village

So I'm thinking of applying for a direct sales job. The sales team came into class today and pitched the direct sales job. It sounds like a lot of fun. We go to small market towns, those with crap cable service, and sell them satellite. You go out for up to 12 days and are back for 5 or so then head out again. Its all over western Canada and goes from mid-April to mid-September. Now I have no sales experience but they say they can teach us that, that the most important things are outgoing and customer focus. There are a few of us from the class who are applying and I think it would be a great experience. The best part is that I get the salary I have now and my job will be waiting for me when the summer is over. I've never done sales before and that is why its a thinking, not doing. I might just apply, see if I get an interview and go from there. Hmmm things to think about.

Otherwise, I am loving my new job. The people are awesome, the trainers are totally in to it and the rest of the class is a great. Its a little strange, we all get a long. I've never had that before. There's always been cliques, even from the beginning. We get 6 weeks total of training and the 7am starts are killing me but I'm loving it.

Ha ha hahahaha. I'm watching Hot Fuzz. I love this movie. One of the best scenes under the cut.

Nicest kids in town

I finally got Hairspray and I still love this movie. Love it! Question. Does Christopher Walkin realize how weird he is? Of course he does, but really, the man is weird!

I am also starting to get really frustrated. For the past month I have been looking for a pair of shoes. Not one specific pair but a pair I can wear outside in the winter but aren't boots. Do you think for the life of me I can find a pair that I am happy with? Nope. Of course not. But this summer I couldn't go into a shoe store without finding a pair I liked. Stupid shoes.

Lastly, American Thanksgiving sucks when your head office is in the states. My login at work is frozen (I had a braindead moment and entered the wrong password one too many times) and it will not be fixed until Monday. Because of the holiday the helpdesk is closed. Grr.
