27th Birthday
Mon Jan 30, 05:27 PM
It is 10 days until my birthday. I turn 27. This is the first birthday that I have had, in my whole life, where I feel old. 27. Thats not really young anymore. I know that really it's not old. But it feels old. I'm not freaking out and refusing to turn 27 (Charlene ;P) but still. It feels like I should have more to show for my age than I really do. I don't have a house or any property, I don't own a car or other type of vehicle. I have not had a job for more than 2 1/2 years. I have no kids, no spouse, no fiance, hell even no boyfriend. Or a girlfriend for that matter.
I have nothing to show for my 27 years on this planet. That makes me sad and frustrated. Again its that thing of where I want to do more but don't know how to start. Or where to start. Or maybe I just need to resign myself to the fact that maybe I'm not going to have anything to show and get over it already. Ech who knows.
You know what I want for my birthday? A brain that can figure shit out. And an iPod. And Billy Boyd. And MonaBoyd fics. And to get really, really, really drunk. So drunk that I can't remember. Yup. That's what I want.

Slowly going crazy

I would like to know the ratio , for the people who voted Conservative, whether the actually wanted a Conservative government or whether they just didnt want a Liberal government. They won by 6%. Is that more than what the Liberals won by last time? Do you think the NDP and the new Liberals will gang together to "topple" this new government? You know, just for revenge. "You topple us, we topple you, basterds." From the CBC, Stephen "LEGOman" Harper speaking on the minority victory.
They have asked us to co-operate, to work together. And to get on with tackling the real concerns of ordinary working people and their families. I look forward to working with all of the parties.
Please. You didnt cooperate before! You certainly didnt work together. For that matter, it also makes mee think about the number of NDP votes. They gained 10 seats. Thats a lot. But did those people really want NDP or did they not want Liberal?
Apropos of nothing these are the 3 things that have been constantly cycling through my head for the past 6 weeks.
- I should save up to get a new computer. My laptop is 5 years old and its pretty slow and old and stupid. The little button that turns off the screen is acting up. Its pissing me off. So I want a new one.
- I should save up to put a downpayment on a new(ish) car. I don't own a car of my own and it would be cool to have one. Something I picked out, that I want, in the colour I want, with the extra features I want (or don't want).
- I should save up to buy an old car. Or my mom's car. What do I really need a car for? I drive a total of 8 minutes to and from work, I go out to get groceries and the mail, I drive into the city about once every 6 weeks. Why do I need a new car when an old one will do?
This cyle is driving me nuts! Some days I lean more towards the new car, other days is the old car. Most day's its the new computer. In terms of what would make me happy, getting a new computer would be top on the list. In terms of investments, what an "adult" would do, it would be the new car. AHHH! I am going crazy over here!

Few things.

- Who the hell really wants a legoman for Prime Minister?! Not me, thats for sure. Then again I didnt want Paul Martin for Prime Minister either. I liked Jean Cretien. He was funny.
- You know what movie I could watch over and over and over? It has been playing on digital cable and I have watched it many times. Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events. Costumes were great, the kids were great, the sets were great, Jim Carey was good, and there was just a nice amount of Jude Law's sexy voice. Its a funny sweet movie and it makes me want to read the books every time I see it.
- I made another pair of mitts. They fit ok but I did them flat and then sewed them up along the outside of my hand. I dont like the seam, it rubs. So they are going to Kosovo.
- You have no idea how much it is killing me that I am sitting on the LJ redsign for the LJ reboot. I usually just put up the new design. Sitting on it is driving me mad! Finishing so soon before Feb 1 was probably not a good idea. Cause now that I look at it again (and again) I want to change things. NO! I will not do that! MUST LEAVE IT ALONE!
- I really enjoyed The Brothers Grimm. So much so that if I saw it on sale somewhere I would buy it. Ledger and Damon were wonderful in it. So good and spazzy. Very funny.

Ouch!

Stupid dog. I took him for a walk last night and we ended up at the middle school. Its got a playground with some swings so I got on one and let the dog run around a little bit. Well.
Winston really didn’t like me on that swing. Not at all. He started barking and nipping at my feet as they came down. He then started biting and bit my leg! Right above my knee and ripped my jeans! And I dont mean a little nip. He was really biting! So, no more swinging while the dog is around.

What’s in a name?
Mon Aug 15, 11:00 PM
We have yet to name the cat. We have a new name in the running tho. Rocky. As in Rocky Raccoon. He has these racoon like bands over his eyes. So that makes it either Rocky, Churchill or Squeaker. We should choose soon or the cat will become “Kitty”.
I have decided I have no tolerance for low-budget, indie movies about peoples everyday lives. They bore the hell out of me. If I wanted to watch someone’s everyday life I would go down to the IGA or the library and watch. Give me some explosions, car chases, intrigue, something! Its not that I dont like dialogue. That’s fine. Just as long as there is a purpose to it. Or that explosions make a good movie.
This came from watching Levity a movie with Billy Bob Thornton as a murderer released from prison 25 years into his sentance after killing at the age of 17. Pretty boring movie. We also watched Catwoman as well. That was a pretty bad movie too. I really dont know what I am saying. Just that I want more than to see a day in an average persons life. I live that everyday. I need an escape.
